Tuesday Tactics: Revenue Planning

Tuesday Tactics: Revenue Planning

As the public health sector responds to the COVID-19 crisis, public park agencies are called to respond. The purpose of the Tuesday Tactics blog is simple: to provide you with strategies that assist you, your agency and your partners with a mutually beneficial way forward.

Revenue Planning: Options Analysis and Sensitivity Testing to Adapt to Changing Conditions

  1. Plan your Options: What does your park system revenue forecast look like if you re-open in June vs. September? What does your revenue forecast look like if you open your RV sites vs. cabins? Revenue sensitivity analysis can help you measure all of these. You should evaluate your demand by month and create some models of impact.

  2. Plan for a Different Visitor Experience: This might look like visitor self-check-in, campgrounds with fewer sites to expand social distancing, a refined restroom cleaning schedule – in the short term, a post-COVID outdoor experience can still occur but may look different. What should yours look like?

Developing revenue sensitivity models is part of what CHMGS does. We will need some data, but we can assist you in developing answers to address your future revenue scenarios and understand related staffing options. Let us know if you would like some assistance.
